INTERNATIONAL EDITOR AJAX MEDIA

The Department

Ajax Media falls under the Communications Department and the International Editor reports to the Deputy Editor-in-Chief. Ajax Media is the largest club media department in the Netherlands and produces videos for every online platform and social media channel imaginable, as well as making programmes and documentaries for channels such as ESPN and Ziggo Sport. The Ajax media team also produces content for international media corporations.

Who are we looking for?

The international reach of the Ajax channels is huge, and the International Editor plays an important role in expanding this even further. We are therefore seeking an International Editor to support the entire Ajax media department from the English language point of view. Duties include translating existing content (video subtitles, articles, press releases and social media) and having input into producing innovative video content. Furthermore, the International Editor, as a representative of the Media Department, is also involved in the club's international projects.

What will you be doing?

• Translating and keeping up-to-date the English website and YouTube
• Translating interviews, articles and press releases from Dutch into English
• Editorial work (research and creative process) for items for TV programmes such as Inside Ajax
• Supporting editorial staff on match days to expand international reach
• Advising the social media team from the English language point of view
• Maintaining the relationship with account managers from the Brand Partnerships department for international projects
• Occasional short interviews (in English, video or written)

What are you bringing?

• You think and work like a college graduate (Dutch HBO)
• You are a native speaker of English (with sufficient mastery of Dutch)
• You are able to demonstrate experience of translation and interpreting
• You possess editorial skills (especially TV)
• You are familiar with social media
• You have 3 to 5 years of work experience in a similar position or related work environment
• You possess editorial writing skills (in English)
• You are flexible with regard to working hours. During Ajax matches you will be present in the editorial office at the ArenA evenings and weekends
• A creative and proactive approach to editorial content
